LAW7 630 - Health Law and Policy This course will introduce the policy environment that defines the delivery of health care and the practice of medicine in the United States today. It will present both the legal and medical perspectives on topics such as health system structure and financing, technology innovation, the public health agenda, professional licensure and credentialing, and end-of-life issues. Emerging concerns regarding research on human subjects will discussed and a brief review of physician, hospital and insurer liability will be presented. Emerging health reform proposals, especially patient-focused and consumer-oriented initiatives, will be evaluated and discussed.
