GNUR 725 - Crisis Management and Emergency Preparedness


Focuses on models of change management, complexity theory and implications for planning and reacting to change.  Theories of change will be applied to emergency preparedness and crisis management, focusing on the effects of disasters on different populations, and current disaster response measures. Strategies for acting, mobilizing and coordinating resources, and support for effective organizational responses will be provided. Organizational and environmental assessment, data gathering, and hazard identification and plan development will be addressed.  Emphasis is on public and private sector methods of managing crisis and roles of managers before, during and after emergencies.
