GNUR 515 - Global Health Issues

This course focuses on factors relating to global health and illness and the multidimensionality of health problems and potential solutions. Dimensions and determinants of world health will be examined with focus on the relationship between environment, demographic and socioeconomic factors, and the distribution of diseases with emphasis on infectious diseases and nutritional needs. Resources and barriers for health promotion and disease prevention within comparative health systems will be explored, with attention to health disparities around the world. (Y)
