GNUR 571 - Primary Care Preceptorship II

A culminating experience in which nurse practitioner students continue to develop the knowledge and expertise essential for delivery of primary health care to clients, families, and communities with a focus on common chronic health problems. Students experience continued growth in role development while assuming an increasing amount of responsibility in the decision making process for patient care. Each student has developed a philosophy to base their patient care that has evolved as a direct result of educational experiences in the program. The number of preceptorship hours is dependent on the chosen role specialization within the primary care program. A minimum of 300 clinical hours is required for GNP; 336 clinical hours is required for all other programs. (Y-SS)
