EDIS 543 - Teaching Composition in Secondary Schools Students study, practice, and evaluate theories and methods of writing and teaching writing, experience a workshop approach and the role of mentor texts in learning the writer’s craft, explore authentic assessment strategies, e.g., performance, portfolios, and conferencing, design writing instruction for students, and create a personal writing project.
