ANTH 230 - Buddhism in Asian Societies


Examines Buddhism from an anthropological perspective, i.e. as a set of living traditions embedded in multiple ways in historically situated societies. The larger, overarching aim is, based on the Buddhist examples, to reconsider critically assumptions of what “religion” is. (Y)
