PSYC 757 - Behavior Disorders in Childhood

Surveys the psychological problems encountered by infants, children, and adolescents. Focuses on the descriptive characteristics of each disorder and presents theoretical etiologies and proposed treatments. Emphasizes empirical findings, although various models of disorder are considered including learning, family, developmental, biological, and psychodynamic approaches. Reviews current thinking concerning psychological disorders of children, providing a critical perspective. (O)
