PLCP 583 - Modern South African Politics


Examines twentieth-century South African politics with a focus on the rise and fall of apartheid, in the context of the historical circumstances that produced it, the personal experiences of South Africans under apartheid, the local and international networks and movements of opposition it generated, and its enduring legacies. Prerequisite: HIAF 302 or at least one course in economics, African history, political economy/development, or African literature.
