ISSS 435H - Seminar in Medieval Studies The Middle Ages is a fascinating and important era in which the foundation of many of the institutions of modern Europe were established. This seminar-based course will examine the political history, economic structures and conditions, religion, philosophy, literature, art and music of the Medieval period. Students will gain insight into this pivotal era through text and original readings, analyzing works of art, attending live dramatic/musical presentations, participating in class discussions and writing a research paper on a topic of their choosing.
