SOC 414 - Sociology of Consumption The course considers the nature and effects of consumer society; it explores the theories, practices, and politics of modern consumption. Drawing on daily practices such as shopping, food and drink, clothing and fashion, the course examines the multiple and contradictory roles that consumption plays in contemporary society.(Y)
